ATTACHMENT 'A' - X-RAY SPECIFICATIONS

1. RADIOGRAPHIC PROTOCOL

A minimum of 34 x-ray films are to be submitted including all prescribed views as appendix A.

Radiographs supplied should comply with AEVA Yearling Survey Radiograph Guidelines.

(a) The maximum recommended film size is 24 x 30 cm with one (1) view per plate.

(b) Easily legible film labeling should be present in the film emulsion. Each film should carry the following information:

(i) Date of examination.
(ii) Name of veterinarian or clinic.
(iii) Dam, year of birth, brands, sex.
(iv) Lot number in sale.

(c) Limb and specific view markers should be placed lateral and/or cranial/dorsal.

(d) Labeling on envelopes containing the films should show the following:

(i) The name and address of the veterinary practice.
(ii) Sale Lot Number.
(iii) Vendor.
(iv) Year and Breeding of the horse.
(v) Colour and Brands.
(vi) Number of films and date taken.
