William Inglis X-Ray Repository
The William Inglis voluntary X-Ray repository is only to be used in the manner provided in the William Inglis Conditions of Sale, contained in the Sales Catalogue, applying in respect of a sale for which access to the repository is available, and in accordance with these Terms and Procedures.
The Repository exists to facilitate the inspection of bloodstock for intending purchasers. The Repository and it’s operation shall not otherwise change any of the Conditions of Sale, which shall continue to be binding on all parties.
TERMS AND PROCEDURES FOR USE
- A vendor may elect to place in the repository, no later than 4 days prior to the repository being available for viewings, x-rays and/or surgical reports of their horse(s) being offered for sale. All x-rays must contain no less than 34 views as specified in Appendix ‘A’. A William Inglis Repository Lodgement Form should accompany the X-Rays when lodged.
- X-Rays must clearly identify the horse by endorsement on the x-ray of the Veterinarian or Practice, Lot number, colour, sex, dam, brands and year of birth for film radiographs and as set out in the DICOM Conformance Statement for Digital X-Rays.
- Envelopes containing x-rays on film should be clearly labelled with the Sale, Veterinarian or Practice, Lot Number, Breeding and number of radiographs.
- X-rays are to be taken no earlier than 42 days prior to the commencement of the sale.
- Each veterinarian wishing to examine Repository information must register with William Inglis as a “Registered Veterinarian” and sign a registration undertaking as to use agreement form.
- Each veterinarian is identify the horse or horses whose information he/she wishes to examine.
- Veterinarians may view Repository information for only one horse at a time.
- Veterinarians reviewing the Repository information shall not provide advice on their evaluation of the information to any one other than their client/buyer.
- Each vendor who elects to place material in the Repository warrants to William Inglis & Son Ltd and the buyer of the horse, the complete accuracy and authenticity of that material.
- William Inglis & Son Ltd will not review the repository information, and gives no warranty or assurance of any kind to the completeness, accuracy or authenticity of any repository information, and no knowledge of the contents of the repository is to be imputed to William Inglis & Son Ltd in any circumstances.
- In any case where horses, for which x-rays are submitted, have under gone invasive joint or abdominal surgery, veterinary reports in respect of such surgery must be submitted with the x-rays. The vendor warrants the completeness and accuracy of any such reports.
- All material lodged in the repository remains the property of the veterinarian or practice, but must be left in the repository until William Inglis & Son Ltd. consider necessary. X-Rays are not available for Viewing once the horse has been sold, material may be passed on to a buyer only on the express written instructions of both the veterinarian practice which took the x-rays & the vendor of the horse.
- Prospective buyers are reminded of the provision of the Conditions of Sale that states that “buyers accept horses at the fall of the hammer, subject to all defects, save as provided in the Conditions of Sale, and buyers may cancel a sale only within the provisions of the Conditions of Sale.”
